Yoga classes, meditation, and religious services give our clients the tools they need to build spiritual awareness. For physical improvement, we provide an exercise room as well as a certified nutritionist. Through group, family and individual therapy, our clients can begin healing mentally and emotionally.

William J. McCabe, C.C.D.C.

Chief Executive Officer

William (Bill) McCabe has been a Nationally Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor since 1996, and was trained as a Relapse Counselor by Terence Gorski (CENAPS) in 1998. Bill has worked for several of the best national and international treatment centers, including The Caron Foundation (Caron Treatment Centers, Chit Chat) and Crossroads Centre Antigua (Eric Clapton’s facility) in the West Indies, During his 25 year career Bill has developed a reputation of excellence in the addictions community. His character, dedication, integrity, and passion for helping others is unmatched.

Bill has facilitated countless interventions and worked with many clients and their families. For the last 15 years Bill has been engaged in management, marketing, business development, and clinical consulting in his private practice.

When approached by the ownership group of Silver Pines to take on a leadership role, Bill was excited about the possibilities of building a very unique treatment milieu. The group has embraced the concept of treating the whole person and not demanding that we use old, outdated ideas, and antiquated methods. They allow us to explore other methods and modalities to provide the best possible outcome for our clients and their families. Bill is a native of the Wyoming Valley and recently moved back after living in New York for the past 24 years. It’s wonderful to return home and work with a group of professionals that are committed to doing things the right way. We have built something really special here at Silver Pines Treatment Center.

Dr. Jeffrey Yocum, DO

Medical Director

Dr. Yocum is a licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with over 25 years of clinical experience. In 1983 he founded his independent private practice – Yocum Associates. Dr. Yocum has been involved with the Lebanon County Coroner’s office as Deputy Coroner and Lebanon County Coroner since 1983. His experience in this role has shed light on the drug epidemic we are seeing in our communities, and has motivated Dr. Yocum to help come up with solutions to battle this horrible disease. In 2009, Dr. Yocum became a Diplomat for the American Board of Addiction Medicine. With this certification, Dr. Yocum has had experience as a Medical Director for 6 different Drug and Alcohol treatment centers, and has vast experience assisting clients in detox and in residential treatment. Dr. Yocum is a 1977 graduate of Bucknell University and a 1982 graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. David F. O’Connell, PhD, MS, CFC, DABPS

Clinical Psychologist

Dr. O’Connell is a licensed psychologist (Pa., NM & IA) with 4 decades of clinical experience. He has been in independent clinical practice in Pottsville, Pa., since 2008.Previously, he was in private practice in West Lawn, PA. and a psychologist with Berks Psychiatric and Behavioral Health Services in Wyomissing, Pa. For 20 years, he was a consulting psychologist to Caron Addiction Treatment Center in Wernersville, Pa. He also served for 5 years as Clinical Director of Adult & Adolescent Services at Caron. He was a psychologist and clinical supervisor at 2 inpatient addictions treatment centers, ARC/The Terraces and New Beginnings at Hidden Brook, as well as an outpatient chemical dependency treatment program, Berks Counseling Center, in Reading, Pa.Dr. O’Connell is the author/editor of 8 books and over a dozen journal articles. He has done research on group development in the treatment of alcoholics and on the effectiveness of drug & alcohol abuse programs on college campuses. He served on the editorial board of The Journal of Adolescent Chemical Dependency. He is an international trainer and has provided training to The National Security Agency, The DuPont Corporation, AT&T and The Red Cross. He serves on the science committee for PTSD- Africa and on the consulting board of Lifeworks, an addictions treatment program in Great Britain. He is a member of The American Board of Medical Psychology.

Dr. O’Connell has been an instructor at Alvernia University, Penn State University and the graduate school of Rosemont College. He has held prescriptive authority in New Mexico since 2011 and is a prescribing psychologist there, consulting to family practice physicians. He is registered with the DEA and has a license to prescribe controlled substances from the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy. He is a board certified forensic & addictions psychologist and Fellow & Diplomat with The American College of Forensic Examiners Institute.

Dr. O’Connell received his Ph.D. from Temple University and a post-doctoral M.S. degree in clinical psychopharmacology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is listed in Contemporary Authors, Who’s Who in the World and is listed in the National Register of Health Service Psychologists.

Beth Ann Delaney, MSW, LCSW

Clinical Director

Beth Ann has 30 years of experience in the substance abuse field as a Licensed Clinical Practitioner working with various outpatient and inpatient organizations. Beth Ann is currently the Clinical Director at Silver Pines Treatment Center in Mahanoy City. This facility is mission driven to provide a holistic treatment approach in a peaceful caring environment for real healing and recovery.

Beth Ann has received her undergraduate degree in Social Work from Misericordia University, and earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Marywood University. In addition, Beth Ann continued her education by receiving a Certificate in Human Resource Management from the University of Scranton. Beth Ann has presented programs in a variety of environments, including manufacturing, medical practices, hospitals, insurance agencies, engineering firms, banking, educational institutions and many others. Lastly, Beth Ann was voted as one of the top 25 Women in Business in 2005 in the NEPA Business Journal.
